Eicosanoids are potent mediators for inflammatory processes that composed of 20 carbon essential fatty acids derived from a-linolenic acid and linoleic acid. The major precursor to eicosanoids are arachidonic acid or omega-6 fatty acid and eicosapentaenoic acid or omega-3 fatty acid, which are released from cell membrane in response to hormone stimulation.
