Napoleon Bonapart adhered to the principle of isonomy, which means all must be treated equally by the law or a state of equal law for all and the responsability of the magistrates. The Napoleonic Code was a set of civil laws, the Code Civil, which development was  a fundamental change of the civil law legal system.
