Step 1. Rewrite it in the form a^2 + 2ab + b^2, where a = d and b = 5
d^2 + 2(d)(5) + 5^2
Step 2. Use the square of sum

Here's how you factor it:

[tex]d^2 + 10d + 25[/tex]

[tex]5(5)=25[/tex] and [tex] 5+5=10[/tex]

[tex](d + 5)^2[/tex]
