How would the summer temperatures of a city near an ocean likely compare with summer temperatures of an inland city at the same latitude?

I think the city near an ocean, which is a body of water, will have cooler temperatures than an inland city as when the wind blows, due to the cool sea water, it will have a cooling effect.
