           Your answer would be D. Nicolaus Copernicus, he introduced this idea in a pamphlet that he published in 1514.

I'm not sure that Copernicus was the 'first', but he was
certainly before any of the other names on that list.

Also, to be technical about it, none of those other choices
would agree that the sun is the center of the "universe" ...
only the center of the solar system.
