A great part of the intellectual culture of provincial America was motivated by religion. The Puritans, for instance, were, all in all, more proficient than different homesteaders in light of the fact that their religion focused on the significance of perusing the Bible. The Puritans established sentence structure schools and Harvard, the primary school in provincial America, to prepare priests. New types of scholarly culture left the First Great Awakening in the 1740s.
