Ammonium peroxide---> (NH₄)₂O₂

to find the percent of nitrogen, first we need to determine the molar mass of the molecule

molar mass of (NH₄)₂O₂= (2 x 14.0) + (8 x 1.01) + (2 x 16.0)= 68.1 g/mol

Now we can determine the mass percent by taking the pass of nitrogen ( 2 x 14= 328) and divide it by the molar mass, and then multiply by 100.

N%= [tex] \frac{14.0 gN}{68.1 g (NH_4)_2O_2} X 100= 20.6 [/tex] %
