Sad he is mostly sad but its kinda like a teen moment where all emotions come together

In the movie The Great Gatsby, Nick's attitude toward gatsby ambivalent was he is still in the illusion that Daisy will come back for him. Even at that moment when he says goodbye, he is fantasizing that and imagining of Daisy. He was thinking that they could still be together.
