The first x is x=-7, and the second x=1

x² + 6x + 9 = 16
x² + 6x + 9 -16 = 16 -16
x² + 6x + 9 -16 = 0
x² + 6x -7 = 0

and then find the factor:
(x + 7) (x - 1) = 0
x + 7 = 0 ; x - 1 = 0
x = -7 ; x = 1
and there is your factors
