Read the passage.

When I got to my cabin at camp, the other campers showered me with a chorus of greetings.

"I’m Alex,” the red-headed boy closest to me said.

"Javier,” called the boy with the glasses sitting next to him.

"Miguel,” waved the boy in the corner. He was sitting surrounded by a pile of comic books.

A fourth boy, taller than the rest, walked up and shook my hand. "I’m Asher. Grab a bunk.”

Why did the author most likely use dialogue instead of description?

A to allow the plot to progress
B to show how the narrator felt
C to emphasize the point of view
D to show who the characters are

It was most likely to show who the characters are. It doesn't really do a lot to progress the plot, or give away the personal feelings of the narrator. 
So it is between C and D. I would go with D, as it is more about describing the people than it is emphasizing the point of view.
