- factorise using AC method

AC= 3 x 2 = 6

find 2 numbers that add to give 5 and multiply to give 6 (3 and 2)

- put them as x in the equation to replace 5x

3x^2 + 2x + 3x + 2

- split the equation in half and expand each side

3x^2+2x | 3x+2

x(3x+2)+1(3x+2)

- put the numbers outside the brackets into a separate bracket

= (x+1)(3x+2)
