A role model is someone who, usually a teen or child, looks up to. A role model provides a good example for someone else. A role model generally causes someone else to become like them, and a better person overall.
An Adult can act as a role model for a teen by demonstrating good behaviors. For example, if an adult restrains from smoking and drinking, it sets a good example for the teen, sometimes preventing them from doing these bad behaviors.
