Given: What should be done to both sides of the equation in order to solve y - 4.5 = 12.2?

To Find: What should be done on both side of equation.

Solution:

Step1 : Add 4.5 both sides so that +4.5 gets eliminated from LHS ,

=> y-4.5+4.5=12.2+4.5

=> y = 16.7

Hence the value of y is 16.7.
