These angles are complementary, so their sum is 90, so:
∠P+∠Q = 90 degrees
Substitute value from task:
52 degrees + (3x+2) degrees = 90 degrees
52 + 3x + 2 = 90
54 + 3x = 90 
3x = 90 - 54
3x = 36    /divide by 3 
x = 12
