You end up with a polyploid condition. Not uncommon in organisms, especially plants, like angiosperms.
Look up "polyploidy".

Answer: If cytokinesis did not occur during mitosis the cytoplasm wouldn't be divided and there wouldn't be two identical daughter cells as a result. so the cell would remain to be at rest not being able to separate into two individual cells.
