what you had to do was add 42 plus 14x which gives you 56x. then for number two you had to multiply the numbers inside of the parenthesis by the number outside of the parenthesis which will give you 35x.
I’m not sure but, I think the second one is 6x+27. I don’t think you can’t simplify the first one, if that’s what your asking. But, if your asking what x is, please tell me and I’ll do that instead.
