But there was no loss from ‘legal sale of alcohol’ there was greater loss of money and jobs since the Prohibition act made alcohol illegal and the Prohibition had become a public policy failure. They thought it would be a great benefit but they were wrong. With the ban of alcohol it was bad for the economy, since people worked in breweries, distilleries, saloons, and restaurants.
