Why is convection is a method of heat transfer in liquid and in gas but not in solids?​

Answer:

Convection is the method of heat transfer by which the movement of actual molecules occurs. In liquids and gases, the molecules are loosely packed, hence can move. On the other hand, in solids, the molecules do not have space to move, hence convection does not occur.
