• How can you tell that a point on the graph is a maximum, a minimum, or neither?

Answer:

If it is on the maximum, then the y-value of the point cannot be any higher and  still be on the graph of the function. If it is on the minimum, the the y-value of the point cannot be any lower and still be on the graph of the function. If it isn't either the maximum or the minimum, it is neither.
