What is the solution to the equation 10-(7x+3.5)=-5.75+3(x-2.5)

first distribute invisble -1
-1(7x+3.5)=-7x-3.5
and distribute 3
3(x-2.5)=3x-7.5

now we have
10-7x-3.5=-5.75+3x-7.5
combine
6.5-7x=-13.25+3x
add 7x to both sides
6.5=-13.25+10x
add 13.25 to both sides
19.75=10x
divide both sides by 10
1.975=x
