4÷10= 0.4

each corn costs 4 cents

to find 3 cans of corn multiply 3 by 0.4= $1.20

The answer is $1.20

When you divide 10 cans by 3 cans you get 3.33 so when you get that answer you would divide the 4$ by 3.33 to get 1.20.
