The a.m and p.m are Latin words a.m means ante meridian meridian means mid day and ante means before so a.m means before mid day p.m is also an Latin word in which p stands for post and meridian stands for the mid day so p.m means post mid day. The origin of a.m and p.m is Latin word for example 6 a.m means 6 'o' clock in morning and 6 p,m means 6 'o' clock in evening
