First thing we shall do when solving this is to simplify both sides of the equation:
2x^2+3x+−3/18=123
Second thing we are going to do is subtract 123 from both sides:
2x^2+3x+−318−123=123−123
2x^2+3x+−1015/8=0
Now it's time to use the
quadratic formula with a=2, b=3, c=-126.875 so:
x=−b±√b^2−4ac/2a
x=−(3)±√(3)^2−4(2)(−126.875)/2(2)
x=−3±√1024/4
So the answer is:
x=29/4 or x=−35/4
