Hello There!

The purpose of the "Stamp Act" was to help pay for the war debt and to help pay for the British troops in American frontier. Although the French and Indian war was a victory for the British, They were left with a massive war debt. The British wanted troops in the American frontier so they can control the colonists. There were about 10,000 troops at the American frontier.
