People with head colds may have difficulty tasting foods. Explain why this happens. Help please.

This is because your taste and nasal receptors, which are located in the head, are blocked by mucus secreted by your cells.  When blocked by mucus, these receptors cannot absorb the smells from foods and thus the taste is different or no as it is usually remembered as.
