The sun is 0 light years from earth because it will take less than a year to travel to the Sun at light speed. That does not mean that the Earth is close to Sun because 1 light year is REALLY far. It would be a lot of zeros if you were to show light years in miles ( speed of light in one second = 186000 miles! Now image doing the math for a year! )
