The purpose of a brochure is to persuade while the purpose of a manual is to inform.

When companies or small business consider writing a brochure, their main goal is to persuade the reader that their company is the best.

When a company writes a manual their goal is to inform the reader how to use something using steps and a process. They may add additional information about the topic or object their manual is focused on.
