A recipe requires 3 ounces of flour for every 2 ounces of sugar

This means the number of ounces of flour is directly proportional to the number of ounces of sugar

Hence, F ∝ S

where

F = Flour

S = Sugar

The constant of proportionality = k

Hence, F = S x k

F = kS

Making k subject of the formula

k = F/S

The constant of proportionality is

k = 3/2

k = 1.5

Therefore, the constant of proportionality is 1.5
