Answer

Find out the how many hours would it take for a spider to go 5 miles .

To prove

As given

[tex]If\ a\ spider\ can\ move\ \frac{5}{8}\ of\ a\ mile\ every\ hour[/tex]

Now

Time taken to cover 1miles

[tex]Time\ taken\ to\ cover\ 1miles =\frac{8}{5} hours[/tex]

[tex]Time\ taken\ to\ cover\ 5miles = \frac{5\times8}{5} hours[/tex]

solving the equation

Time taken to cover 5 miles = 8 hours .

Therefore Time taken to cover 5 miles be 8 hours .
