Carbohydrates are macromolecules which are key form of energy for almost all living cells. Carbohydrates contain carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen atoms and they are made up of two basic compounds which are aldehydes and ketones. There are different types of carbohydrate and they include monosaccharides, disaccharides, and polysaccharides.
