The equation is y = 5.


You can find this because we know slopes that are parallel have the same slope. Since the original is just y = a number, we know the slope is 0 and therefore there will be no x. Since this next equation is parallel to that, it will also just be y = a number with no x.


Since in the new ordered pair, y = 5, that must be the equation that we use as it is also parallel.
