A car traveling at 27 m/s starts to decelerate steadily. It comes to a complete stop in 12 seconds. What is its acceleration?

Initial speed = 27 m/s
Final speed = zero

Acceleration = (final speed - initial speed) / (time)

=  (-27 m/s) / (12 s)

=  (-27/12) m/s²

=  - 2.25 m/s²
