For this case we have the following linear equation:
 [tex]3x + 10y = 36 [/tex]
 The intersection with the x axis occurs when the value of y is equal to zero.
 We then have to replace y = 0 in the equation:
 [tex]3x + 10 (0) = 36 [/tex]
 Rewriting:
 [tex]3x + 0 = 36 3x = 36[/tex]
 Clearing x we have:
 [tex]x = 36/3 x = 12[/tex]
 Answer:

The x-intercept of the equation whose line is 3x + 10y = 36 is:

x = 12
