Why is it helpful to model an object in 3D? (This is a PLTW class- gateway 1- basically engineering) PLSS HELP

Im guessing that it is good because people can see your demonstration in a more realistic form instead of 2-D. In 2-D its more shown as cartoon-ish, but when in three 3-D I would feel it is more observant and people can get a greater visual
