false, because cos(x) has no definite answer, and equations aren't identities

No. It is not an identity 'cause it involves trigonometric function and it's true for only single value (i.e.,30). You can also calculate the angle as follows:

Cos x = √3/2
x = cos⁻¹ √3/2
x = 30

In short, Your Answer would be "False"
