Also Given sum of integers . x + y = 4 ----------- (2)

Substitute ( 1 ) in (2)

x + y = 4

(y + 10) + y = 4

y + 10 + y = 4

2y + 10 = 4

2y = 4 - 10

2y = -6

y = -3

Substitute y = -3 in ( 1 ) : x = - 3 + 10 = 7
