Assuming 20 is the hypotenuse cus there is no picture:

[tex]a^{2} + 16^{2} = 20^{2}[/tex]

[tex]a^{2} +256 = 400[/tex]

[tex]a^{2} = 144[/tex]

[tex]a=144[/tex]

If It's not the hypotenuse:

[tex]16^{2}+ 20^{2} =c^{2}[/tex]

[tex]256+400 =c^{2}[/tex]

[tex]656=c^{2}[/tex]

[tex]c = 25.61249695[/tex]

But I find it unlikely that 20 wasn't the hypotenuse so ignore that unless it applies.
