We know the coordinates of two points on the line—(-2,0) and (0,4)—which we can use to find the slope.

Slope = Δy/Δx = (4-0)/(0-(-2)) = 2.

And as we conveniently just noted, when x = 0, y = 4. So, the slope-intercept form of the equation of this line is y = 2x + 4.
