To find:

The solution for the given equation.

Solution:

We have,

[tex]30+7y=-2y-6[/tex]

Isolate the variable terms on the left side, we get

[tex]7y+2y=-30-6[/tex]

[tex]9y=-36[/tex]

[tex]y=\dfrac{-36}{9}[/tex]

[tex]y=-4[/tex]

Therefore, the value of y is -4.
