Given:

Reflect square JKLM with J(1, 4), K(6, 5), L(7, 0) and M(2, -1) in the y-axis.

To find:

The coordinates of M'.

Solution:

We have, M(2, -1) .

If a  figure reflected over the y-axis then

[tex](x,y)\to (-x,y)[/tex]

Using this rule, we get

[tex]M(2,-1)\to M'(-2,-1)[/tex]

Therefore, the coordinates of point M' are (-2,-1).
