Put equation two into the first equation by replacing values of y with 2x-4

4(2x-4)+3x=12
8x-16+3x=12
11x=28
x=28/11

Put the value of x into the original equation to find the value of y.

y=2(28/11)-4
y=56/11-4
y=12/11

x=28/11 and y=12/11
