What is the solution to 1/3 (9x+3) = 3x+1

1/3 (9x+3) = 3x+1
Multiply both sides of the equation by 3.
9x+3=9x+3

The statement is true for any value of , because both sides are identical

So, you have to distribute.

1/3 • 9 = 3x
1/3 • 3 = 1
3x+1, since 1 is a positive number, you don’t subtract. Looks like you did the work right.
