How do you solve this equation? (k/4 is a fraction)

5 = 12 + k/4

Subtract 12 from both sides

5 - 12 = k/4

Simplify 5 - 12 to -7

-7 = k/4

Multiply both sides by 4

-7 * 4 = k

Simplify -7 * 4 to -28

-28 = k

Switch sides

k = -28
