Question 1:

Multiply 24 by 9 to find the amount of people carried in one day.

24 × 9 = 216

Now multiply that by 30 to find the amount of people carried in a month.

216 × 30 = 6,480

Option B: 6,000 passengers is correct because 6,480 is closer to 6,000 than 10,000.

Question 2:

Multiply 12 by 12 to find a gross.

12 × 12 = 144

Now to find 12 gross, multiply 144 by 12.
