if they are dropped in vacuum then the air resistance is negligible and force on each body is given by product of mass and acceleration due to gravity

[tex]F_1=m_1\cdot g[/tex]

[tex]F_1=10\times 9.8=98\ N[/tex]

[tex]F_2=m_2\cdot g[/tex]

[tex]F_2=1\times 9.8[/tex]

[tex]F_2=9.8\ N[/tex]

Thus the force on 10 kg  brick is 10 times the force on 1 kg book
