Weight is a measure of the force of gravity on an object. Gravity is the force that directs weight. The biggest thing that makes mass and weight different from each other is that weight changes depending on the location of something. For example, your weight on Earth would be much more than it would be on the moon.

Unlike weight, mass never changes due to the location of something. The mass of an object is measuring how much matter is in it.
