Yes; following the crowd and doing what others do might land you in trouble. The crowd could be doing anything, to the extend of a murder. Peer pressure could also land you in trouble. You yourself could give into a murder because you want to seem cool. Therefore, following the crowd and giving into peer pressure does have disastrous consequences.
